Sierra Vista (AZ) Dispatchers in Need of Support

I'm a Public Safety Dispatcher at the Sierra Vista Police Department. For the past 11 days, we have been dealing with the Monument Fire. Many of us were displaced during evacuations and still had to go in for our shifts. At one point a co-worker and I thought for sure we were going to have to hear about our homes burning down on the air. Luckily our neighborhood was saved though. Although everyone is back home and our community is (fingers crossed) for the most part out of harms way from the fire, it has been stressful to say the least. Our dispatch center kicked some serious you know what.

Before an emergency operations call center was established, it was us. I could go on and on about what an amazing job was done by everyone in our comm center. Luckily none of us lost our homes to the fire. I was wondering if there's anything that you can do to recognize our comm center. In these types of events, as you know, we are usually forgotten when it comes to the community recognizing and reaching out. Those on the front lines get the glory, as deserved, and we just continue plugging along. Please let me know, and thanks for taking the time to read this. Also please pray for the 50+ families who did lost their homes in this disaster.

Sincerely,
Lilly Perry
