Tragic Death of Atlanta Dispatcher

Good afternoon. Hope you're doing well.

I am requesting a 911Cares activation for the Atlanta 911 Center in Atlanta, Georgia as they lost a 911 Communications Supervisor, Nikita Thomas during an attempted carjacking. I have included in excerpt from an e-mail with details below. I have also included links to local news sites.

On Monday night, APD 911 tragically lost one of their newly promoted 911 Supervisors to a random act of violence. Supervisor Nikita Thomas and her family were returning home after an evening out when an unknown masked gunman approached their vehicle in the driveway and began shooting. Her fiancé immediately attempted to flee the scene but died from his bullet wounds and the vehicle ran head on into an oncoming Marta bus. Nikita (a passenger) was killed on impact and her 13 year old son was in the back seat sustain injuries but he is stable.

Our Atlanta Police 911 family is deeply hurt but they are trying to hold it together.

Nikita was newly promoted to the position of supervisor. She possessed a beautiful spirit and bright warming smile. This is such a senseless lost and she will be greatly missed.
