KimberlyFund Raiser for Director Facing Breast Cancer Surgery

Kimberly Culp has been involved in the 911 business for the past 17 years as a dispatcher, dispatch supervisor, Communications Manager, and is currently the Executive Director for the Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority in Fort Collins, Colorado. For those of you that have worked with Kimberly in the 911 arena, you know what a wonderful advocate she is for 911 service throughout the state of Colorado and the nation. She rarely takes no for an answer; she stands up for what she believes is best for our Communications Centers and our communities. She never gives up...she's a fighter!

Kimberly is now faced with a fight of her own. She was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in August, 2010 and immediately began an extensive treatment plan to rid her system of cancer. Expenses for such a battle are astronomical. To add to the expense, Kimberly had to work outside of her "insurance network" for the care she needed, so the insurance coverage is minimal at best. She continues to follow her treatment plan, now in its sixth month. Kimberly has undergone major surgery and chemotherapy. 2011 brings another surgery and many other treatments, including radiation. At the young age of 38, Kimberly faces this life-altering experience head-on, overcomes each new challenge and continues to smile and stay positive! Her husband, James, and their two young sons are her inspiration to continue to fight and win this battle. She is always the first person to step up to the plate for those in need - now it's our turn to pay it forward!

The Loveland Emergency Communications Center and the Larimer County Sheriff's Office Communications Center will be hosting a Benefit Bar-B-Q in the Loveland/Fort Collins area this spring and will keep everyone updated when we confirm the date. In the meantime, for anyone that would like to make a donation toward the medical expenses, you may make checks payable to James or Kimberly Culp, and you may mail the checks to:

Larimer County Sheriff's Office
