Maryland Dispatcher in Need of Support

On 7-16, long-time dispatcher Kelly Crosby was just arriving for her shift at the St. Mary’s County 9-1-1 in Maryland. Her 26 year old son, Andy, was being rushed to the hospital in a neighboring county. Andy was playing softball when he started feeling ill. Calvert County dispatched an ambulance to his location and found him in full arrest, CPR was started and Andy was transported to the hospital. Kelly was notified that her son was being transported. She left work but it was not until she arrived at the hospital that she found out Andy had passed away.

Andy had such a huge heart and was always so kind, thoughtful, and happy. Andy had chosen to be an organ donor. Due to this choice, his organs helped to save the lives of 51 people. The irony in this circumstance is that 51 has been his sports number since he was in high school. Please send condolences of support:
