Wife of Leavenworth County Dispatcher Sends Thanks

On Aug 19th, 2011 Sara Warren, wife of dispatcher Jim Warren, Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office, had had a tragic accident. Picking up debris after the storms, a branch fell and pierced through her eye socket puncturing her brain. She was rushed to the hospital where she had surgery for 5 hours. Four teams of doctors removed part of her skull to extract the stick.

Sara has made tremendous steps in recovery, but still has a long way to go. Jim had told me that she has “quirks” in her memory both long term and short term, but hopefully as the swelling goes down in the brain things should be back to normal. Jim said that will be a while. Sara has continuous appointments with the ear, nose, and throat; ophthalmology; and neurology physicians.

And possibly facing another surgery because the region between the eye and nose are not healing correctly. They won’t know until some of the swelling is gone.

We want to thank those who have sent cards (Jim stated that she that she really enjoys the cards, especially from out of state), have placed her in prayers, and sent what they could.

Thank you all for all that you do!
Roberta
