Allen PD (TX) Dispatcher Loses Husband

On New Years Eve 2009 an Allen PD Dispatcher lost her husband. The dispatcher, Sara Drew, had worked evening shift (2pm-10pm) and was looking forward to spending a romantic evening at home with her husband, Chris. He was going to cook her dinner and they were going to toast in the New Year together at midnight. When Sara got home she found her 26 year old husband having a seizure. She called 9-1-1 and spoke with Frisco PD Communications Supervisor, Roxanna Johnson. Roxanna didn't know that Sara was a fellow 9-1-1 dispatcher at the time of the call. Roxanna gave Sara CPR instructions while Frisco FD units were responding. When the FD arrived, Chris was a Priority 1 and was transported to the hospital. Shortly after arriving at the hospital he passed away. Sara has been a dispatcher since February 2009. Her and Chris had been married for just over a year but it seemed like they were still newlyweds. Sara could always be heard commenting about how blessed she was to have such a wonderful husband. Sara is only 2 Funeral arrangements have been made for Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 at 11:00am at Parkway Hills Baptist Church, 2700 Dallas Parkway, Plano, TX  75093.
