REQUEST FOR 911 CARES Linda Carey has been employed as a 911 telecommunicator for San Juan County Communications Dispatch Center located in Aztec, New Mexico for four (4) years. Her husband Michael is an Aztec Police Officer; they are the parents of five (5) children. Darien (12), Julian (10), Chelsi (6), Aiden (2) and Addyson (2 weeks), born on 2-19-10, she was a month premature via c-section. Within the first few hours of her life, early testing indicated problems with her lungs and heart. Addyson along with her father Michael were flown to Albuquerque, New Mexico by medical helicopter and admitted to the intensive care unit where further testing showed her lungs were not completely developed, she was placed on a ventilator. As of today she was able to breathing room air. So as you can imagine her stay in the hospital is going to be lengthy. Linda was discharged from the hospital on Sunday 2/21/10 and was finally able to travel to Albuquerque, NM to be with her newborn daughter. Linda’s mother stayed behind to care for the other children. Last week the 10 year old son became ill with severe head and neck aches, after being seen at our local hospital, the doctors discovered a mass in his throat and he needed to be transported via medical helicopter to Albuquerque, NM for extensive testing. After a battery of testing the diagnosis came back as a severe strep infection settling in his kidneys, he is currently on dialysis in intensive care. As of today they have no idea when they will be able to come back home. Even with their insurance coverage the out-of-pocket expense this young family is currently facing is overwhelming. We at San Juan County Communications have rallied around Linda and her family to support them, we would like to ask you for your support, prayers, and donations to help Linda and her family get through this trying time.
