PA Dispatchers Husband Dies June 1, 2010 911 CARES, I am located in Meadville, PA at Crawford County Office of Emergency Services/911. This morning one of our Shift Leaders (Karen Haun) with many years at the center suffered a tragic loss of her husband Paul Haun (37), who is also a Corporal at one of our local police departments that we dispatch for. He recently underwent emergency surgery for a ruptured bowel and was planned to be off from work for almost a year. I couldn’t help from hearing from Karen last week say she didn’t know how she was going to be able to pay the bills on her pay alone. Now this morning we got a call that he had passed away after being transported by EMS to the local hospital. I can see where this dispatcher and several that were very close to Karen and Paul are going to have a very difficult time in the center and also Karen having a very difficult time finically and emotionally. Karen and Paul also have two wonderful boys, Nathan and Parker (I don’t have ages as at this time Nathan is in elementary school and Parker is preschool age). Any help 911 Cares can give would be greatly appreciated. A note from 911 CARES – Please forward this e-mail to co-workers, responders and local chapters of NENA and APCO. Ask unions or other organizations to make a donation. Pass the hat on your shift and send the donations directly to Karen at the address listed below. Thanks for helping your fellow 911 professional! If you have any questions, please email me or call (814) 724-7450) Dan Miller, Dispatcher Make donations/checks to Karen Haun Condolence cards may be sent to: |
