Death of Village of Tinley Park 911 Center Telecommunicator

A Note from 911 CARES:

It seems like we go in cycles of tragic events. This is the second new Mother that has died unexpectedly in one month. Please take some time to pass on a card to the agency and put the family in your prayers. Make sure you mention that you heard via 911 CARES. You are taking the first step in the “pay it forward” program! 911 CARES will send some items to the dispatchers that are grieving.

Death of Village of Tinley Park 911 Center Telecommunicator Sheryl Carroll

We are requesting a 911 Cares activation on behalf of the sudden death of Village of Tinley Park 911 Command Center Telecommunicator Sheryl Carroll.  Sheryl, age 28, was employed by our department since July, 2003, and is survived by her husband, Matthew and newborn son, Logan.  Her loss has deeply saddened our department.  Her cause of death is related to an infection that was discovered during a 6 week check up after giving birth.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:

Wake:          Sunday, February 15, 2009, 2-9 p.m.
                      John Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home
                      7020 W. 127th St.
                      Palos Heights, Il.

Funeral:       Monday, February 16, 2009
                       Prayer service at funeral home at 9 a.m., followed by procession to:
                       St. George Catholic Church
                       6707 W. 175th St.
                       Tinley Park, Il. -  Funeral mass at 10 a.m.

Burial:            Private.

Thoughts and prayers for our 911 Center and Sheryl’s family during this difficult time are greatly appreciated.  A memorial fund will be established in her name in the future, to benefit her family.
