Redwood City, CA A Unique Tragedy For Madison Heights Police Dispatch Note from 911 CARES - this is surely a unique tragedy - please do what you can to support this family. Maybe send a donation to the memorial fund, send a gift card to Ryan's wife for the kids or send a card to the family. We usually don't do activations for Officers (911 CARES is chartered to help dispatch related events but Ryan was a dispatcher and this is a highly unique event) Dear 911 CARES, I am writing to you to see if you can do a 911CARES activation for one of our officers/former Emergency Communicator. Officer Ryan Settlemoir was with the department for 9 years, 2 as an Emergency Telecommunicator and 7 as an officer. He was 28 years old and is survived by his wife, a 4 year old son, and twin 2 year old daughters. He passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009. He died from the A1N1(Swine Flu) Influenza virus. A memorial fund has been set up for Ryan's children's college fund in the following name:
We are also accepting donations at the station along with cards and letters of support.
Here is a link to the obituary. Any help that 911CARES can give would be greatly appreciated by us. Thanks
