Support Needed for Hometown (IL) Dispatcher

From 911 CARES: Take a moment to send an e-mail to one of the contacts below or mail a condolence to Hometown Illinois Dispatcher Paula Meyer. The family is not asking for donations at this time. Please keep this family in your hearts.

Dear 911 CARES,

We are asking for prayers, cards or condolences for a Hometown, Illinois Dispatcher, Paula Meyer, whose  two year old son passed away on the 7th of February 2009.

Ian was diagnosed with several medical problems early on and the family was told to prepare, Ian most likely wouldn't survive to see his first birthday. Ian was a fighter and proved everyone wrong surviving longer to bring joy to everyone's life he touched. Ian was doing so well that this was sudden and unexpected despite his prognosis. His third birthday would have been this Sunday the 15th of February. Ian survived numerous heart surgeries, feeding tubes, severe respiratory problems, chromosome defects, and a trach. Sadly, a septic infection that could not have been detected ultimately took Ian's life. Ian's wake and funeral will be held this Thursday, February 11, 2009 beginning at 9:30am at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Hometown, Illinois.

His mother Paula, father Ed, 9 year old brother Jimmy, and 5 year old brother Sean are left knowing they were blessed with Ian for these past years but are in need of our support and prayers. We are taking donations and/or cards for the Meyer family at our communications center, in care of Linda George or Beth McCarthy, or they may be sent to the Hometown Police Department in care of Tracy Virruso. All the addresses and contact information are listed below. Any thoughts, prayers, or cards would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much,
