Victoria (TX) Dispatcher Needs Support Dear 911 CARES, I work for the Victoria Communications center in Victoria, TX. We have an extraordinary dispatcher and trainer named Cynthia Inmon that works here with us. Cynthia's husband, Lee (44 yoa), has been ill for some time and she has depleted her paid time off, including sick leave over recent months to take care of him. Yesterday, while my shift was working, we got a frantic call from Cynthia, who was at the ER with her 7 yoa daughter who had a high fever. Cynthia needed EMS to respond to her house to pick up her husband who was unconsious according to her adult son who was with him. EMS responded to the house and transported him, and he had suffered a massive stroke, was too weak to be life-flighted to a larger hospital, and was rushed into surgery. Today, after 2 surgeries and lots of prayer, things are not looking good. Chances are slim that he will pull through, and if he does, he may not be able to speak or move. His oldest daughter is in the army and trying to make it back to Victoria to see him in case the worst should happen. Cynthia is completely out of money, out of paid time off, has a sick husband and daughter, and is in no condition to work or train dispatchers. We at the Police Dept are desperately scurrying around to organize benefits and collect funds, but any help that we can get would be greatly appreciated. Please call me anytime day or night if you need additional information. Note from 911 CARES - Take up a collection within your center and send it to Victoria Police. There is contact information below. Please do what you can to help your dispatch sister in need. Thanks Thank you, Rachel Witte - Telecommunications Operator - Victoria Police Department- Work: 361-573-3221, you can also e-mail kparsons@victoriatx.org |
