Newton County (MO) Dispatcher in Need of Support and Prayers

Dear 911 CARES,

I am writing to request activation for a fellow coworker and her family.

Anastasia Fienen has been a full time dispatcher for Newton County Central Dispatch in Neosho, Missouri for just over a year.  Her husband, Brad is a Neosho Police Officer.  They have 4 children ranging in ages 4 months to 15 years.

On November 25, 2009, just as Brad and Anastasia were making plans for Thanksgiving their 15 year old daughter, Caisla was in a major traffic accident.  She was ejected from the vehicle and had to be life flighted to Springfield, Missouri.  A large portion of her skull has been removed due to brain swelling.  Her prognosis is very poor.  A miracle is her only hope.

All prayers for this family, and any donations would be very much appreciated as both are without a paycheck while away from work.

*A note from 911 CARES. Please contact Jackie directly at Newton County to offer assistance. We also hope you add this family to your church prayer circle and maybe send the family a few gift cards to help them make it through the holidays.

November 7th update:

The hospital is trying to wean Caisla from her sedation medications.  The pressure on her brain has drastically reduced.  Today, she opened her eyes for the first time!  She has also had some movement of her arm.  Amazing!  They still don't know the extent of the brain damage, although the surgeon that removed a portion of her skull told the family that it is extensive.  She is going this afternoon to have a filter implanted in her Vena Cava to catch blood clots that may form due to her immobility.  She developed a secondary infection in her lungs and had some major problems with her Sodium levels, but those don't seem to be too much of a problem anymore.  All in all, things are looking better.  Thanks to all for the prayers and generosity shown to this family!
