Duluth 911 Dispatcher in Need of Support

Good afternoon!  I am writing to you about a personal friend of mine who has met Richard Behr at the California Tactical Dispatcher Association Conference in Bass Lake CA this year.  I am hoping that he remembers her, her name is Nanette Blom, from the Duluth 911 center in St Louis County MN.  She is a very dedicated.   Her son, Alex who is 14 years old, was diagnosed with leukemia at a very young age, went through all necessary medical procedures and was cured approx 2 years ago.  Alex has now been diagnosed with multiple brain tumors and has had at least 2 surgeries in the past month that I am aware of.

This is part of the email that I received from the family earlier today, "The news regarding Alex is not good.  He had a second surgery Friday evening and the cancer has infiltrated his brain.  The surgeons had to deal with a lot of clotting, and it was fortunate that he did not have a stroke. We are waiting to hear if surgery for the remaining tumors is possible; they may be inoperable.  At that point, it may be radiation, chemotherapy and drug therapy.  We will know more by early next week."

I am asking for your help, concern, cards, prayers, and financial support.  The family has to travel from the Duluth area to the Minnesota Children's Hospital in the twin cities and it is really been draining both emotionally and financially on them.

I feel helpless and am turning to you for your assistance.  Nanette has even worked shifts in between doctor appointments and surgeries to make sure that she is able to pay her bills.  Please help and I will be forever grateful to you. Please call me with any questions, 218 410 1811.

Thank you.
