Spotsylvania County (VA) Loses Dispatcher to Cancer Kevin Lee Williams, 37, of Spotsylvania County went home to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at VCU Medical Center in Richmond. Mr. Williams was a devoted husband and father. He was a member of Salem Fields Community Church, along with his family, where he was active in the Motorcycle Ministry. He loved music and always had it with him. Mr. Williams was a longtime member and lieutenant with Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Company and worked as a communications officer for Fredericksburg 911. Survivors include his parents, Bradley and Brenda Williams; his wife, Deanna Gonzalez-Williams; their children, Jessica, Taylor, Katrina and Steven; his brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Stephanie; his sister and brother-in-law, Angie and J.D.; his father- and mother-in-law, Lou and Karen Gonzalez; his brother-in-law, Jim Gonzalez and his family; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Salem Fields Community Church, 11120 Gordon Road, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407. Interment will follow in the Williams family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kevin Williams Cancer Foundation, 7218 Cloverhill Road, Spotsylvania, Va. 22551. Kevin departed this life on October 27 with a long battle with leukemia. He was 37 years of age and was a dispatcher for Fredericksburg 911 and served as lieutenant with the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Company. He also worked for our 911 center for close to 2 years starting in 2001. Please keep his family and Fredericksburg PD/Fire in your prayers.
