Kelli James
Santa Rosa (CA) Dispatcher
Needs Our Thoughts and Prayers

Kelli & FamilyKelli James has been a dispatcher with Santa Rosa Police Department since 1996.  She is instrumental in keeping our mapping system up to date as well as working through her regular dispatch duties.  Kelli has been commended several times for her efficiency and quick skills as a police and fire dispatcher.  Kelli doesn’t like to be idle, she is always looking for that perfect project!

Kelli met Ruben Martin and they were the perfect match! They fell in love and the rest is history.  Kelli and Ruben have a son, Coby, 4 years.  Ruben always loved fire service and has worked his way up through the fire community to fire captain for the Marin County Fire Department.  On February 11, 2008, he was critically injured while on duty and airlifted to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek with life threatening injuries.  The past week has been wearisome for Kelli and Ruben and their family.  For those in fire service, you know that the ‘fire family’ is great, and Marin and Santa Rosa Fire Departments have been no exception.  There is no end as to what they would do for their family members.

As for Kelli, she is always the first to act when we see a 911 Cares activation.  She puts together whatever is needed and makes sure it gets where it’s going and does so with anonymity.  And now it’s Kelli in need of prayers and support from our dispatch community.  We are asking everyone to keep Kelli, Ruben and their family in by keeping them in their thoughts and prayers.  They have a long road ahead of them.
