Update on Marissa Monroe
Daughter of St. Joseph MI Dispatcher

I'd like to give an update on Marissa. She continue's to do well & has received her 4th round of 3f8. My husband will be participating in a 3800 mile bicycle ride across the country to raise awareness & money for Neuroblastoma & a promising new treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. That's where Marissa receives treatment. You can follow their journey at www.loneliestroad.org & continue to follow Marissa at www.caringbridge.org/visit/marissamonroe. Thank you for all of your support.

Daughter of St. Joseph MI Dispatcher

Hi, I would like to send an update about our daughter Marissa.  Marissa has stage IV Neuroblastoma.  Our lives changed drastically on November 27,2006 when she was diagnosed.  She has since received 6 rounds of high dose chemo, 2 stem cell collections where they had to put temporary ports in her (1 in her groin & 1 in her chest), a biopsy of the tumor, a central line was placed in her chest & is still there, complete resection of the tumor in her abdomen, numerous scans, numerous bone marrow biopsies & aspirations.  Marissa is currently receiving painful 3f8 antibody therapy in NYC.  We travel from Michigan to NYC at least 1 time per month.  We will be heading out to NYC again this week & we
will be there for 1 month.  She has handled her treatment very well.  We anticipate her antibody therapy to last for about 2 years.  We appreciate all of the support from 911cares.  Marissa's story can be followed at www.caringbridge.org/visit/marissamonroe.  Thank you.
