CHP LODD is Husband of Folsom Dispatch Supervisor

911 Cares,

Douglas Scott Russell, 46, was hit on Highway 50 about 45 miles east of Sacramento and airlifted to the University of California, Davis Medical Center. The 22-year CHP veteran was pronounced dead at the hospital. Sadly, the CHP officer killed was the husband of Dispatch Supervisor, Lynn Russell, who works for the Folsom, California Police. She was due back to work tomorrow after a long battle with breast cancer. The loss of her husband is tragic and will impact both CHP and Folsom Police.

"Our officer was attempting to deploy the strip, and the suspect aimed his car at the officer and murdered him," CHP assistant commissioner Kevin Green said. Russell, who is survived by his wife, is the second highway patrol officer to be killed on the job this year

These are the worst of times for our Public Safety family; hold Lynn in your heart and keep her in your prayers. Please send cards or letters to:

Folsom Police – Attn Lynn Russell
50 Natoma Street
Folsom, CA. 95630

We will update you on any specific needs. As of now, her friends are asking for cards, letters and prayers.
