Jackie Pool
Cass County (IL) 911 Center

911 CARES is sending a donation along with a Teddy Bear and some goodies to Jackie and all of the kids! Please read the activation request and do what you can. Cards and notes of prayer and encouragement would be appreciated! There is an e-mail contact below for more info.

I am requesting a 911 CARES activation for a dispatcher of mine, Jackie Pool.

Jackie has been with the Cass County 911 Center for a little over two years now. She is a very dedicated dispatcher that works both part time for us and one of our neighboring counties to try to make ends meet. She goes above and beyond in her duties as a dispatcher.

Jackie does not have much but does her best to get by for her and her children. She is a single mother of three small children: Gabe who is 4; Olivia who is 3; and she just gave birth to a premature baby boy, Caeleb who weighed only 1lb and 15 oz.

As you can probably guess, Caeleb is having a very rough start in life. He was born on June 11th, three months early. He is a very strong little boy and has been fighting very hard to stay alive. He has already had two surgeries, one to remove fluid on his chest and one to repair his heart. He has been on a ventilator and is struggling to gain some weight.

To make matters worse, Jackie just found out that the lease on her apartment was not going to be renewed. She will have to move out of her home by July 31, 2007. So she will have to look for a new home for her family while dealing with her son’s medical problems.

As you can imagine, Jackie has a lot on her plate to deal with right now. She is unable to work while she recovers from the delivery and while she is caring for Caeleb in his time of need therefore she has no income to speak of right now. She does not have any medical insurance so she will be bearing the brunt of the medical expenses herself.

Jackie does have family and friends that are helping out, but as you know, the bills add up quickly. She could definitely use all of the cards, prayers and donations that people can collect. Any and all help that Jackie and her family receives would be greatly appreciated. Anyone who is willing to donate and help Jackie and her family can make checks out to "Jackie Pool" and they can be sent to:

Cass County E911 - Attn: Pool Fund - 101 N Front - Virginia, IL 62691 - 217-452-7187

I will make sure that everything gets forwarded to Jackie and her family. We will send you updates with Caeleb’s condition as we get them. Thank you in advance for any and all help. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
Vicki DeFord  casscoe911@casscomm.com
