Hemphill County Texas Dispatcher Needs Our Prayers and Well Wishes

Note from 911 CARES:

Please keep this family in your hearts and prayers. The agency is asking for cards, letters or checks to be sent to the family. We will post updates. 911 CARES will do our part to help the family too. Tragedies like these are hard enough but seem to be worse during the holidays, please do what you can.

We have a dispatcher in Hemphill County, Canadian Texas that is having a very difficult time.  Her husband is disabled and almost invalid and is having very bad time. He has kidney cancer, and November 28, 2007

He will have the lower parts of his lung removed to try to stop them from collapsing.  Mr. Brittain is in a wheel chair and on oxygen 100% of the time.  She also has a 21 year old special needs son that lives with her and depends on her for every thing, and raising a 10 year old grandson without any help. Mr. Brittain does try to take care of these two when he isn’t in the hospital.  Mrs. Brittain has thyroid problem, high blood pressure and can not take care of herself because of the demands on her time, financial resources.  She is a great 911 operator and dispatcher but all is taking a toll on her.  She needs all types of help and prayers.  We are a very small department and are helping her as much as we are capable.
