Dee Wyatt On Saturday, June 30, 2007, while at work, Bakersfield Police Department Dispatcher Doretha (Dee) Wyatt was notified by our on-duty Watch Commander that her husband had passed away. Derrick and Dee Wyatt had only been married 2 years. He was a wonderful step-father to Dee's 3 children and, in fact, had taken her 7 year-old daughter and 9 year-old son fishing that day. While at Lake Success, Derrick was overcome by pain and fell from their boat into the lake. The children were able to gain the attention of others at the lake. Derrick was pulled from the water within minutes, however he did not survive. Dee is now faced with the high costs of burial, not to mention the pain and grief she and her children are experiencing. Any support is, of course, greatly appreciated. Terrye Steiner, Communications Manager Kevin Willet |
