Danita Chulla
Ontario Police Department (CA)

12/19/06: Danita Chulla, a lead dispatch supervisor at the Ontario, California Police Department, had a tragedy strike her family this last week. Danita's twelve year old son Matthew had a skateboarding accident which left him brain dead. Matthew's organs were harvested and he was pulled from life support. A memorial was held Friday.

Ontario Police is shaken to their core and 911 CARES pledged the money to fly some family members in for the memorial and to support Danita who is a single mom. Matthew was surely "her world" and to lose him leading up to Christmas is unfathomable. 911 CARES will match the first $1,000 donated via our web site. Let's do this people! Special attention parents and California dispatchers, help your 9-1-1 sister through this tragedy.

Unexpected medical and burial costs just scratch the surface of the financial burden this mother shouldn't have. We also ask that you get a card and send it to not only Danita but to OPD 9-1-1 also. A fund has been established at the Ontario Public Employees Credit Union (909-984-8781), to help with associated costs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For further information, please contact Officer Jose Tirre at 909-395-2001 ext 4622 Ontario has set up a fund for him to help defray costs incurred (including flights to bring the family in from Minnesota and Idaho) The very best way that we can help is first, our prayers; then cards; then, in lieu of flowers a donation in Matt's name Send cards, letters and donations to: The Matthew Chulla fund c/o Ontario Public Employee's Federal Credit Union P.O.
