Kevin Willett Dear 911 CARES: We are requesting a 911 Cares activation for one of our Dispatchers, Walter "Wally" Nutting. Wally has worked for the Town of Wayland MA Joint Communications Center since 1982. Shortly after Christmas Day, 2005, Walter was stricken ill at his home and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. It was determined at this facility that He had suffered from a severe diabetic episode and had suffered complications caused by this. Wally was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit where he was stabilized, which took approximately two weeks. He was then transferred to a Rehabilitation Center. During his stay there, further complications arose and he was taken to a hospital in another community that was better equipped to handle his situation. Once again, he was stabilized and then removed to a Rehabilitation Center within that hospital's complex. The doctors have moved Wally between these facilities several times due to infections in his abdomen. Any Questions contact: Tom Turner/ Days (07:00 - 15:00) or Doug Williams/ Evenings (15:00 - 23:00) Wayland Police Dept Return to Top 9-1-1 CARES
