Redwood City, CA 911 CARES Katrina Update 08/29/06 Dear 911 CARES, Thanks so much for remembering my family! We are all doing well actually. We have now got out of that FEMA trailer and living back in our home. YEAH YEAH YEAH The majority of repairs have been completed to the inside of the home and we have it filled with with new treasures. At times we find ourselves going to look for things we once had and forgetting we no longer have them, but we are so blessed and fortunate for the things we do have that you won't find us complaining. My daughter is a senior this year and progressing very well. She has her eyes set towards college goals. Please pray those dreams will come true for her. My son started high school this year and he has made a remarkable recovery since the storm. He does not seem to be so angry anymore. I was concerned for a brief period because he lost everything and was forced to live in the cramped conditions of that FEMA trailer, but I think overall he learned a valuable life lesson. That we are not guaranteed tomorrow and appreciate the blessings and material things you have -- never take those things for granted. I, as a mother, will never forget your kindness showed to me and my children Christmas 2005. Without your help and support I can't imagine what we would have done. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Dear Kevin, I want to personally thank you for all your efforts in this endeavor. When I first met you, I knew that you had compassion for people and passion
for the jobs that we do. Your actions in our time of need exemplifies the
person you are and it is no wonder that you are so loved throughout the
industry. Once again thanks for your help and via 911 CARES I was "adopted and introduced to Kim Korstad of Minneapolis. She and I now have a lifetime bond. I will continue to ask God to bless your every step because you have truly given of yourself.
