Redwood City, CA A request from Columbus , Ohio Comunications : A NOTE FROM PSTC: Columbus will send updates on the family and how we as a profession can help. For now, cards and letters of support will be encouraged. If we see a need for the kids or any special funds, we will update the site. ( 3-2-2004 ) We have a dispatcher Stacey Craig. Her husband is also a police officer for Columbus Police Department. Saturday while working undercover, he was on a motorcycle and was t-boned by an SUV. He has a broken neck, and other injuries. He was taken off of life support yesterday. From what I am told he does not know anyone coming to see him. He is in Grant ICU, and I am not sure what his condition is. Anyway He works days, and she works nights and they have 5 children. 4 still at home with them and school age. She will be taking some time off work to care for her children and her husband. I don't know what if anything 911 cares can do to help her out, but I am sure anything would be great. We are collecting money at work to buy food and other things. Off set her cost at the hospital for parking and anything else she would need. If you need a contact person at the department, I would be more than happy to pass along anything to her. Any other info please e-mail me. I am going to give you both my home address and also the comm. center address. Being such a large department and other people other than public safety in our building a piece of mail sent to the comm. center could take 2 to 3 weeks to reach the radio room. I would prefer people send the mail to my house, so I can pass it along to her more faster, however I know some people may not want to do that. So I have provided both for you. Jim Eggeman Columbus Police Radio Room Contact Jim Eggeman for updates She has been a dispatcher for just over 2 years. And THANK YOU VERY MUCH - Thanks for everything you do for us dispatchers Return to Top 9-1-1 CARES
